Payroll Advisor

Temporary assignment for experienced payroll advisor. Responsible for all aspects of Norway payroll, including execution, reporting, analysis and control. Responsible for all governmental reporting, including taxes and social security

Accountabilities and End Results:

 

  • Process monthly payroll for all Norway employees
  • Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while ensuring all legal compliances are met
  • Ensure payroll, tax and social security payment commitments are met at all times
  • Maintain and supervise the maintenance of payroll relevant employee master data
  • Work closely with SAP Support to ensure the SAP payroll system is updated at all times
  • Coordinate and support various projects as requested, including SAP system enhancements and upgrades, enhancement fixes and regulatory updates
  • Ensure pension basis is correct and reported to relevant parties
  • Responsible for governmental reporting such as bi-monthly payroll tax and employers contributions.
  • Responsible for implementation of annual salary/pension adjustments and bonus and stock program
  • Assist HR staff with payroll and tax related questions and provide training and development as needed
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partners to integrate data flow between HR and Payroll
  • Respond to payroll related questions escalated from HR Connections
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate and timely coordination of data transfer and reporting of payroll information
  • Identify and drive process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure SOX compliance for payroll processes
  • Ensure compliance with company’s compensation and benefit policies and procedures
  • Ensure adequate internal controls exist and are followed to minimize payroll related risk
  • Identify and suggest improvements of routines and solutions through collaboration with relevant stakeholders in HR

  • Understands costs implications of decisions made

 

Required skills (education & competencies):

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. HR, Finance, Economics etc.)
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Knowledge and understanding of finance processes
  • Professional and ability to handle confidential employee and company information

 

Preferred skills (education & competencies):

  • 5-10 years of experience directly related to Norway payroll activities. Lack of payroll experience can be compensated by strong background and competencies within related activities.
